Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
Did you know?
Mozart’s grave is unknown to this day. It’s a musical mystery!
He wrote his very first composition at . . . FOUR YEARS OLD!
Mozart was a Freemason. In fact, his famous work, The Magic Flute, was inspired by Masonic values.
He had an eidetic memory for music. He could listen to an entire classical piece once and then write down its exact composition.
He was a fan of very crude humor.
His full name was Joannes Chrysostomus Wolfgangus Theophilus Mozart . . . but he preferred to be called Amade.
Mozart was fairly short, at 5 feet and 4 inches tall.
He could speak TWELVE languages.
He was very close with fellow Austrian composer, Joseph Haydn.
Rather than attending his father’s funeral, Mozart elected to stay home, as he was morning the death of his pet starling.
While he fathered six children, only two of those children lived past infancy. Neither of those children had children of their own, thus ending Mozart’s line.
In the past, Mozart scholars believed that he died from being poisoned by Antonio Salieri. That theory is no longer accepted. However, his cause of death remains a mystery.
Although he died at the young age of 35, Mozart had already composed over 600 different musical pieces, including 50 symphonies, 15 masses, and 21 stage operas!
